Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa

The Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA) is an NGO of the national agricultural research institutes (NARs) of eleven countries-- Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and now South Sudan.  It aims at increasing the efficiency of agricultural research in the region so as to facilitate economic growth, food security, and export competitiveness through productive and sustainable agriculture.  It is based at the NARI in Uganda.  The ASARECA website is an excellent source of research information.
